History of Fourways

Fourways started out as a residence and game farm owned by the Eriksen family. It was a 245-hectare plot of land. The original residence in the area was called Norscot because of the nationalities of the inhabitants which was Norwegian and Scottish. In the 1970s, the land was sold in bits while the residential home was given to the City Council at Johannesburg and was later transformed to the Norscot Manor Recreation Centre. The Manor is comprised of a number of designed and decorations. It has been much altered from its original state.
