Porthcawl is known as a holiday town and is located on the South Coast of Wales, in the county of Bridgend. Porthcawl if famous for its caravan park, Trecco Bay, where locals and visitors flock every year for some time away by the sea. Porthcawl has a number of beaches and a large promenade, dotted with cafes and little shops where you can buy an ice cream or a bite to eat.
Porthcawl also has a beautiful lighthouse, built in 1860 and is today used for navigation. There is also an annual carnival, the Porthcawl Town Carnival which is held each year to raise funds for charity. From themed floats, craft and food stalls and live music this carnival attracts tons of people both locally and from all over the UK.
