Neath is a town found in Port Talbott in Wales and in 2011 reported a population of 50 000 residents. The town is located by the River Neath and has a number of Celtic forts and remnants surrounding the town, and was originally a market town that expanded in the 18th century, thanks to the Industrial Revolution.
Many canals and railways were constructed very close to Neath and this resulted in the community becoming a major transportation center. Until recently Neath was also a river port.
Many, many well know people have come from Neath, namely the composer Harry Parr-Davies, the singer and guitarist Gary Pickford-Hopkins, the well-known actor Paul Rhys, the popstar Bonnie Tyler and even the Oscar winning actor Ray Milland.
Neath also has some lovely attractions and markets that make this a place to see and visit when in Wales.
