The county of Mid Glamorgan was formed in 1974 and was an administrative county for many years. It is one of the thirteen historic counties in Wales and is known as a “preserved” town.
Mid Glamorgan is part of Glamorgan or Glamorganshire, which became an important part of the Industrial Revolution due to its natural resources of coal. In 1974 the county of Glamorgan was abolished and three new counties were formed, namely West Glamorgan, Mid Glamorgan and South Glamorgan.
Life in Mid Glamorgan is peaceful and quiet enough to enjoy a more relaxed way of living, with plenty of amenities close by and a hustle of bustle of busier towns such as Cardiff or Swansea are only a commute away.
