The town of Gwent was formed in 1974 and was named after the Kingdom of Gwent. In 1996 the county was abolished, however it kept its name for various purposes and legalities.
In 2003 the county expanded to include the Caerphilly County and since then has grown rapidly. Gwent has also become one of the most expensive places to live, with house prices ranging from £395,762 in Usk to £177,401 in Cwmbran.
The neighbourhood of Usk has also been voted the nicest place to live in the whole of Wales, making this one seriously sought after neighbourhood. Gwent has an abundance of amenities as well a fun things to do in and around and residents are not only spoilt for choice, but also enjoy a safe lifestyle here.
