Gorseinon is a small town, found within the city of Swansea and was always a small village until the 19th century when coal mining helped to expand this little town. Gorseinon still has its own elected town council and a local government community, giving this small town its authentic feel and way of life.
In 1840 the population was around 250 people, whereas in the 2011 census there was over 8000. This is also a religious town with quite a few churches available to worship at, most of which are Roman Catholic.
Life in Gorseinon may have started out slowly, but today it has a vibrant city center with nuemours businesses as well as Food festivals and community theatre performances on the go. As far as being a place to live, Gorseinon is for those who love a sense of family and community, but still have all the amenities on hand to enjoy a comfortable life.
