Epsom is a traditional market town in the county of Surrey. It is approximately 13.5 miles south of Charing Cross in London and 4.75 miles northeast of Leatherhead. Epsom developed as a spa town in the Georgian period, due to the mineral waters being found to be rich in magnesium sulphate, which then more widely became known as Epsom salts. Epsom is a popular place to live for commuters as it is perfectly placed between busy London and the serene rolling hills of Surrey.
The train station in Epsom goes to Waterloo via Vauxhall, taking around 40 minutes. It also goes to Victoria, Via Clapham Junction in around 45 minutes. Tattenham Corner station, found nearby to Epsom has trains that go directly to London Bridge and Victoria in an hour.
