Gillingham is a town found in Dorset. It is the most northerly town in the county and has a population of around 11,756 according to the 2011 census. In the last 20 years it has grown in size quite rapidly. The town centre is a historic area which dates from early medieval roots.
Gillingham is around 25 miles away from Salisbury. Poole and Bath are both 30 miles away. Gillingham has some great transport links with a main line train station with direct trains to London Waterloo, Exeter, and Salisbury. It takes about 2 hours to get to London Waterloo from Gillingham.
